Why should you
consider this program?
Because we can help you achieve improved team performance by helping your team members and
team leaders better understand what it takes to make a team function smoothly and
effectively -and develop the team practices they need to produce immediate results back on
the job. |
This two and
one-half-day program is designed to improve team performance by getting teams to look at
the team practices they employ and to build important team skills in response to the
improvement opportunities that each team identifies. The program is conducted in five
separate sessions each 4 hours in length to minimize time away form the job and to
maximize the opportunity for participants to work on actual team issues and to apply what
they learn on the job. The program enables team leaders and team members to experience
each of the four stages of team development and, in the process, develop their own
abilities to diagnose and respond to team problems-and to ensure that every team member is
an active participant. Participants learn to clarify their team's purpose, develop team
norms, build consensus, and help their teams perform synergistically. The program includes
experiential learning teams, case studies, critical incident analysis, and insight into
the dynamics of successful teams. Our Team
Effectiveness Survey measures the effectiveness of a team in each of the stages of
team development. The survey is fully integrated with each of the program modules so that
participants are given the opportunity to see the need to change. This diagnostic
instrument provides team members and team leaders important feedback on the critical
success factors of team performance. The program provides the skill development necessary
to improve individual and team effectiveness.
Sterling Institute's team effectiveness series is designed to meet a range of situations
and needs, but each program is anchored to our unique Team Development Model. Drawing on
over two decades of research into team performance, this sophisticated new model:
 |
More accurately describes how
teams develop over time and in relation to their primary tasks.
|
 |
Takes the mystery out of team
building and team
leadership by identifying, for each stage, a specific task,
tension, leadership role, and resolution.
|
 |
Includes clear guidelines for
successful team leadership and team membership. |
The model is easy to remember and therefore easy to apply,
helping your team members deal with the issues that, left unacknowledged, undermine trust
and limit productivity.
