Beltsville Agricultural Research Center
Scope of Work:
Sterling Institute was
selected to provide supervisory training courses for supervisors and
potential supervisors at the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center (BARC).
The objective of the BARC initiative was to develop and
facilitate supervisory training for supervisors and team leaders to
enable them to identify and apply effective supervisory functions,
communicate more effectively with employees and peers, and learn how to
work more effectively as a supervisor or team leader.
Sterling Institute
consultants tailored four programs to meet the specific needs required
by BARC: Delegation,
Performance Management, Leadership Challenges and Empowerment and Managing Diversity. These
programs were open to all supervisors and potential supervisors. The
leadership program was designated as an advanced level program; the
others were entry level. Each
of these programs was successfully delivered several times by a team of
Sterling facilitators.
Accomplishments:
BARC
had identified specific courses and objectives when they issued their
RFP. Sterling Institute
drew from its extensive library of courses and cadre of experienced
trainers to successfully design and deliver the programs and materials
as requested.
