Program Description This program helps participants apply a systematic, seven-step process for identifying, analyzing and solving a variety of work process and organizational problems. It represents the basic skills needed to identify and quantify the gap between the desired outcome and the actual state. Participants are introduced to and practice using a variety of recognized tools, such as Pareto charts and fishbone diagrams, to determine problem root causes, identify and choose effective solutions. All examples are based on actual problems from state agencies.
Upon completion of this course the participant will be able to
  • Formulate a structured approach to problem resolution
  • Identify and begin to use data and process management tools for problem resolution
