Developing Lean Associates

Summary
The goal of this workshop is to help leaders begin to enhance their skills in developing the attitudes and skills their employees need in order to be successful when working in a Lean Manufacturing environment and implementing Lean initiatives.  Program participants develop their ability to establish a continuous improvement culture, they learn how to define what is needed, set clear goals, coach associates, provide constructive feedback and handle difficult performance situations involving Lean applications.

Course Outcomes
As a result of participating in this program, leaders will:

  • Establish clear performance standards and Lean expectations;
  • Be able to provide recognition and corrective feedback;
  • Identify steps that they and the people in their work units can take to improve performance and build the capacity of the organization to achieve its goals;
  • Master the leadership skills needed to deal with the difficult situations that arise during Lean implementations;
  • Reevaluate their role in and responsibility for developing the people who report to them; and
  • Master the skills needed to conduct effective coaching and feedback meetings.
